California Field Manager, Moms Clean Air Force (MCAF - Greater LA & Central Valley)

California Field Manager [Focus: Greater Los Angeles and Central Valley]
Moms Clean Air Force (MCAF) is seeking a California Field Manager to focus on greater Los Angeles and the Central Valley. A nonpartisan project in conjunction with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), Moms Clean Air Force is a group of over 100,000 motivated parents and concerned citizens who harness the powerful voices of mothers to fight for clean air and our children’s health. The Mom’s Clean Air Force California Field Manager will:

·Identify diverse bloggers and activists in CA to build support for AB 32(CA Global Warming Solutions Act), Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), and other MCAF priorities.
·Work with, and help develop, Latina/o leaders in Southern California and the Central Valley to serve as message champions for CA clean economy, climate, and clean air policy.
·Plan and execute events in target districts (town halls, rallies, education seminars, and other public meetings).
·Translate materials into Spanish and work with MCAF staff to create Latino-specific outreach materials.
·Work closely with national MCAF staff to meet state-specific and national goals. Including:

oCreating a large and ever-growing list of people who are interested in the project’s
mission andare willing to take action to support its goals
oEmpowering citizens to become super advocates
oPlanning legislative visits for constituents
oGathering letters to politicians and VIPs from constituents

·Work with our social media strategist and website managing editor to create and implement strategic online advocacy.
·Build partnerships with community groups and environmental justice organizations in
greater Los Angeles and the Central Valley. Qualifications include:
·Bachelor’s degree minimum, graduate degree preferred.
·5+years of experience in community organizing, communication, education or related jobs.
·Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, oral and written
·Ability to work in both Los Angeles and Central Valley
·Fluency with social media, mobile media, and other online advocacy tools.
·Background in Public Health and/or Climate/Energy advocacy is preferred.
