LAND CONSERVATION INTERN
Primary Purpose of Position
The Stewardship Council is seeking a qualifed individual to assist in the Stewardship Council's Land Conservation Program. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization dedicated to land conservation and youth.
Position Responsibilities
Reserach and analyze issues and develop recommendations regarding land conservation and land use policies and best practices.
Help organize and implement community meetings and workshops.
Assist in facilitation and recording of public stakeholder workshops.
Assist in organizing and conducting field trips.
Assist with progress reports, notes, and other communications as requested.
Support in preparation, editing, and delivery of land planning documents.
Assist with general office support, including filing, copying, answering phones, and document production.
Assist in efforts to intergrate youth program concepts into land conservation planning and implementation.
Requirements
Course work and/or career interest in natural resources, environmental studies, land conservation, and youth outreach.
Some administrative experience with filing, answering phones, copying, and faxing.
Ability to multi-task and work in high-energy, start-up environment.
Positive, mature, and professional communication style.
Proficient skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Compensation
Salary depending upon experience
